Full Extent - The map will be reset to show the full extent.
Previous Extent - The map will show the previous extent.
Next Extent - The map will show the next extent.
Pan - Click a point on the map and drag the mouse while still holding down the mouse button. When you release the mouse button, the map will redraw to reveal the adjacent areas of the current map extent.
Zoom In - Click a point on the map and hold down the mouse button. This point will represent a corner of a rectangle. Drag the mouse while still holding down the mouse button. The rectangle will draw on the screen. Release the mouse button when complete. The map will zoom to the extent of the rectangle.
Zoom Out - Click a point on the map. The map will be zoomed out around this point.
Measure Distance - Click a point on the map and release the mouse button. This point will represent the point you will be measuring from. Move the mouse to a new location and click the button again to place the next point on the line. Repeat this as many times as needed. Double click the button to end the line and display the distance.
Measure Area - Click a point on the map and release the mouse button. This point will represent the first point in your measurable area. Move the mouse to a new location and click the button again to place the next point in the polygon. Repeat this as many times as needed. Double click the left mouse button to end the polygon and display the area.
Save - The save tool downloads your current map and asks you to save it to your computer as an image file.
Print - The print tool formats the map to be printer friendly.
Select By Point - Click on a single point on the map. The feature on the active layer and at that location will be selected. TIP: Hold down the 'Shift' key to subsequently select multiple features.
Select By Line - Click on a point on the map and release the mouse button. This point will represent the starting point of the line. Move the mouse to a new location and click the button again to place the next point. Repeat this as many times as needed. Double click the button to end the line.
Select By Rectangle - Click a point on the map and hold down the mouse button. This point will represent a corner of a rectangle. Drag the mouse while still holding down the mouse button. The rectangle will draw on the screen. Release the mouse button when complete.
Selected Feature Callout Visibility - This tool will toggle the visibility of selected feature callouts.
Zoom To Selection - The map will zoom to the selected features.
Clear Selection - All selected features will be cleared from the map.
Buffer - Type in the buffer distance (in feet) in the textbox. The maximum distance you can enter is 9999 feet. This number represents the radius of the buffer. Next, select a single feature on the map by clicking it. All features on the active layer that fall within the specified distance of the feature you clicked will be selected. GO
